Use SEO Techniques to Turn Your Site Into An Authority Site

Filed under: Search Engine Optimization — Tags: , — Dee @ 6:43 pm

Authority sites are trusted by visitors and search engines as providing reliable informative content. That trust translates into sales. Unfortunately authority sites don’t happen overnight.  A well thought out Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Plan involves several  SEO techniques.

Two factors that impact how search engines determine the authority of a site are the domain age and the coding within the site.

Domain Age

Domains that are older are considered more authoritative than newer domains. An older site with the about the same number of backlinks, number of pages and relevant quality content will be ranked higher than a newer site of a similar nature.

The age of a domain begins when it can be seen online.  Registering a domain but never uploading it as a website doesn’t cause the clock to start ticking. Buying an older established domain is possible.

Coding

Coding of the pages is important to search engine spiders.  Most people think of the home page of a website as the most important page.  However, each page should be optimized for the specific content on that page.  Spiders don’t see the pages through browsers like humans do. Some html codes such as meta tags, titles, keywords, and description, which don’t show up in browsers, have an impact on the search engines’ indexing of the pages and the site.

Different keyword phrases should be used for each page, concentrating on one phrase for the page.  For example:  The keyword for a page within a weight loss site, could be “lose weight fast.” Other pages would be titled and named “quick weight loss,” “how to lose weight quickly,”  ”fast ways to lose weight,” and so forth. The keywords should be used in the html code in the meta title tags, description, in the first headline of the content and several times throughout the content.

Indexing is the listing or recognition of the page by the search engine.  Engines crawl from one page to another.  If a page has no incoming links it won’t be indexed.  The incoming link can be from the site’s home page or from an external site.

The age of the domain can’t be controlled.  Its age is determined by when it was first uploaded to the Internet.  That factor can’t be manipulated.  The age can be determined through The Way Back Machine, http://www.archive.org/web/web.php.  The coding of the site beyond the most productive usage of keywords is best left to programmers.

Correct coding and an aged domain are two SEO techniques that boost search engine rankings.

The 30 Day Challenge to Earn Money Online

Do you remember when you first discovered the opportunity of making money on the Internet  and how confusing it was?  I certainly do.  I didn’t realize the potential the Internet held as far as earning an income.  I didn’t know all the different ways I could earn money.  Real money, not pennies a day.  I learned the hard way what worked and what didn’t.

I started experimenting.  I looked at ghostwriting, writing Private Label Reports, opening a membership site, article marketing, selling affiliate products, developing and selling my own products, earning AdSense revenue, selling advertising on my niche websites and blogs, and lots more.

Based on that experience, research, and learning from those in the know, I’ve put together 30 Day Action Plan: Earn Money on the Internet.  It’s based on my successes and failures.  30 Days of Action, the report you have here is a day by day game plan.  You start from scratch and finish with an established blog/website, squidoo pages, hubpages and an Internet presence that’s earning you money.

So now, set yourself up for a challenge.  You have 30 days and a budget of $150.00 to show yourself you can make money on the Internet.  Do you have to spend $150.00?  No.  You can write the articles yourself and distribute them rather than using a ghostwriter and an article distribution service.  You don’t have to have graphic covers for your giveaway book, although it helps get signups.  You can also use a free email distribution service rather than a paid one.

You have several options: sell affiliate products, earn Adsense revenues, develop and sell your own product. You don’t have to spend the $150.00, but it will get you jump started.  You don’t have to start from scratch. If you have a website/blog/squidoo lens up and running, fine, you can promote them.

How much can you earn?  That’s depends on the niche you choose, the quality of your content (even if ghostwritten, quality counts) and how much effort you expend.

It took me approximately an hour a day to implement the steps in this challenge.  Some days took longer and some days, that required only posting to forums, or distributing articles, didn’t take that much time.

Don’t be overwhelmed by the material.  Just remember you don’t have to do it all at once.  Your only goal is to complete each day’s task.  That’s it.  The next few days are packed with a lot of information to get you off to a good start

Best of Luck,

Dee Power
